Follow the footsteps of a great noble family – the Frankopans! Once rulers of Krk, they left their mark on the island. Visit the medieval castle in the historical core of Krk town and go on a quest for remains of Gradec, another former Frankopan castle found in the forest in the Vrbnik area.
Feel the magic of Mediterranean towns! Apart from Krk town, the historical cores of Omišalj, Vrbnik, Dobrinj and Baška also have enchanting stories to tell. For example, in the ancient town of Vrbnik on top of a cliff you can find the narrowest street in the world. Visit the ancient site of Fulfinum- Mirine! Two thousand years have passed since the Romans formed a town called Fulfinum in Sepen Cove near Omišalj. A few centuries afterwards the Christian complex Mirine was built nearby. Today, the ruins stand as evidence to a long historical journey Krk has seen.
An oasis of tranquility awaits you on Košljun, near Krk town! Apart from lush Mediterranean vegetation, the islet is known for its Franciscan monastery and rich cultural heritage.
Camino and Glagolitic Alphabet trails
